Beauty is a bright and beautiful young woman who lost her sight when she was a child. The Beast is a prince bewitched by his inability to see beyond the physical. Their paths cross when the Beast takes Beauty's father as a prisoner, but she decides to take his place and live in the castle with her peculiar host.
Beauty and her friends, the enchanted objects of the castle, will help the Beast understand that the only person capable of breaking the spell is himself if he can accept and understand what it truly means to see.
An emotional show in which we discover that there is another way to see the world. CANDILEJA Producciones reinterprets the traditional French tale written by Beaumont, giving a new character to the original message of the work by incorporating a blind actress-singer as Beauty to address themes about how our perception of beauty changes as our way of seeing changes.
The popular tale serves as a starting point to promote values such as empathy, inclusion, diversity, and acceptance of our own differences.
With direction and dramaturgy by Jesús Sanz-Sebastián, the show features a fascinating costume design created by Juan Ortega and a colorful staging that transports us from a small village in 19th century France to an enchanted castle. The original soundtrack, composed by Pablo Lluch, draws from styles like pop to Latin rhythms or even trap.
DURATION: 75 minutes.
RECOMMENDED AGE: For all audiences.
